Like most of us, I have had my fair share of challenges and obstacles. In the moment it’s nearly impossible to view major challenges as a blessing in disguise. Instead they are frustrating, trying, and cause one to grow indignant.

When life beats you to the ground, don’t give up. Down the road you’ll realize that the struggles opened up more doors than it closed.

Here’s the truth – no matter how unfair life seems, everyone faces challenges. Some greater than others. The challenge isn’t what is important. How the individual reacts to the challenge is the secret sauce. I have seen both ends of the spectrum – those who close off and give up, and those who find increased vigor and drive. Guess where I lie on that spectrum.

Cultivate your grit, tenacity, and resilience. Learn to cherish the bullshit and let it fuel you. Once you are able to successfully do that, the sky is your limit.
