About the MCAT

The MCAT is a 7.5 hour exam testing students across four main sections:

  • Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems
  • Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
  • Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior
  • Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS)

Each of the four sections is scored between 118 and 132. Combined, they make up the total MCAT score, ranging between 472 and 528. Per the AAMC, the national average for students accepted to U.S. medical schools is 511. 

Although it is only one of many factors considered in med school admissions, it is one of the most important parts of the application. For that reason, we strongly encourage students to optimize their study strategies in order to maximize their score. After all, it is one of the heaviest weighted factors that is entirely within a student’s control.

Yes, you’ll be receiving one-on-one attention from one of our stellar tutors. They haven’t just excelled on the MCAT themselves (averaging >98th percentile), but they also love what they do – helping other students achieve similar success!

 

We generally advise against in-person meetings, as travel time, coordination, and logistics are much more inefficient than conducting tutoring online. Our video chat platform allows for virtual face-to-face interaction, white board drawing, screen sharing, presentations, and annotations. Regardless of your learning style, we’ll be able to accommodate you!

 

Our MCAT tutoring services are completely comprehensive, and that includes CARS. CARS is an essential portion of the MCAT, and your tutor will help you master it.

 

Every student is different, and there’s no one size that fits all. We offer a range of packages to choose from to accommodate your needs. Most of our students opt for 25-40 hours to achieve the results they are happiest with.

 

On your intake questionnaire, you will indicate the best times you would like to be tutored. We’ll assign you a tutor who can accommodate this request. You can then work with your tutor to schedule them at any time, whatever works best for you.
