About USMLE Step 2 CK
With COMLEX Level 1 now reported as Pass/Fail, Level 2-CE has become the most heavily weighted scored exam in your residency application. Program directors now rely more than ever on this exam to assess your clinical competency and readiness for residency.
COMLEX Level 2-CE evaluates how well you apply medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and osteopathic principles to patient care. The exam consists of 352 multiple-choice questions delivered in two 4-hour sessions over a single day, totaling approximately 9 hours of testing time, including scheduled breaks.
Unlike the USMLE, COMLEX Level 2-CE is not divided into distinct blocks. Instead, it’s a continuous, time-limited exam, demanding endurance, strategy, and precision.
