Position Summary

Med School Insiders is looking for a Video Editor for the KJMD YouTube Channel who has a passion for creating engaging and polished video content. As a long-term video editor, you will play a critical role in helping elevate the production value of our educational and lifestyle videos, primarily focused on medical and wellness content. You will be responsible for editing video content, syncing audio, and applying color correction and grading, all while maintaining a high standard of visual storytelling.

You will collaborate closely with the founder, as well as our content team (including Youtube producer, social media manager and other editors), to produce videos that align with the style and quality seen on the KJMD YouTube channel. This role will require approximately 30 hours per week on average, and the ideal candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.

Initially, there will be more back-and-forth as we align on style and expectations. Over time, you will have more creative autonomy to make editorial decisions. Timeliness, attention to detail, and integrity are essential, as our work process values organization and efficiency.

Your Roles and Responsibilities

• Edit 4K video footage captured from multiple cameras, possible green screen, sync separate audio files, and source additional B-roll from stock footage.
• Ensure each video draft is polished and YouTube-ready, including color correction, transitions, text overlays, and B-roll integration.
• Submit a first draft of the video, along with 3 thumbnail drafts, for review.
• Revise and finalize videos and thumbnails based on feedback, ensuring timely delivery.
• Collaborate closely with the content team to ensure the final product aligns with the creative vision.

It’s a Good Fit If…

• Expert knowledge of Adobe editing suite (mainly Premiere and After Effects).
• Proficient in color correction, grading, chrome key, and creating engaging motion graphics.
• Familiarity with Photoshop for designing eye-catching thumbnails.
• Fast, reliable computer capable of editing 4K footage and a strong internet connection for file transfers.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions closely and deliver consistent results.
• Reliable, organized, and proactive, with the ability to work independently and think creatively when challenges arise.
