Position Summary

Med School Insiders is looking for a YouTube Animator who has a passion for storytelling through dynamic visuals and prior experience in creating educational content. You will play a key role in helping us produce engaging animations for our YouTube channel, focused on premed, undergrad, and medical school topics such as the application process, study strategies, MCAT and USMLE preparation, and more. Our signature style prioritizes clarity and concise, high-value information, and we’re looking for someone who can complement that with visually compelling animations.

You will collaborate closely with our Youtube Producer, as well as other team members including writers and social media managers. Your primary tasks will include creating polished video animations and thumbnails that enhance the content’s educational impact. Additionally, you’ll receive voiceover files and scripts to guide your animation work.

Initially, there will be more back-and-forth as we align on style and expectations. Over time, you will have more creative autonomy to make editorial decisions. Timeliness, attention to detail, and integrity are essential, as our work process values organization and efficiency.

Your Roles and Responsibilities

• Create engaging, YouTube-ready animations and thumbnails in alignment with the content provided.
• Submit a polished first draft of the animation and multiple thumbnail drafts for review.
• Revise content based on feedback, ensuring timely and accurate final delivery.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the final product meets the high standards of Med School Insiders.

It’s a Good Fit If…

• Expert knowledge of Adobe editing suite (mainly Premiere and After Effects).
• Familiarity with Powtoon is a plus.
• Proficient in Photoshop for creating high-quality thumbnails.
• Strong communication skills with a focus on clarity and following instructions.
• Reliable and organized, with a proactive mindset to find solutions independently.
• Fast computer capable of handling 4K footage and a strong internet connection for downloading and uploading files.
